Chicken tractor build

I've been following this chicken tractor build thread with great interest, and it's given me some ideas for my own backyard project. Last summer, I took on a major landscaping overhaul and used a mini excavator for the first time. I wasn't sure which model to rent, and its weight was a significant consideration due to the soft ground in my yard. During my research, I came across this insightful article about mini excavator weights. It was super helpful and saved me from potentially getting a machine too heavy for my land. I thought I'd share for those who might be considering bigger landscaping projects around their coop or garden. Knowledge is power, especially when heavy machinery is involved!

I've changed and modified the plans alot,

My advice is add 1" hardware cloth in half the floor of the coop .Poop will fall out the holes and it will add needed ventilation.

You don't think it'll effect their feet/legs?

Good morning, I wanted to share an update, this build is taking alot longer than I expected. Today the hardware cloth is going on. Do you try and install it in one piece and trim around or cut it in lengths? Thank you

IMO it's easiest to cut pieces to size on a hard flat surface, then install.
Measure twice cut once

If you have some cattle panel, I find having a section of that wrapped in hardware cloth can then be installed so that it can be easily removable or hinged while still being super secure. It would be wasteful to do that for all of it, but sections of it is nice.
