Chicken Training!

They are VERY smart. Only took 'em about a day to train me.

Clicker training has to instantanious. "click" then the treat almost at the same time.

As soon as you get them to associate the clicker with yummy treats you are ready to train them. I will take while, be patient. this is the most important part.
If they are otherwise occupied and you "click " and they come running---you are ready.

As soon as you see them do a desired action-instantly "click" and treat.
at first click when you think they are going to do the right thing, it takes intuition here. "did she look at the square like she was about to peck it?" if you think so, then give a click and treat. sooner or later she will begin to associate the square with the click/treat and will pay more attention to it and soon will peck at it to get her reward.

For complex tricks like walk a tightrope, climb a ladder, go through a tunnel, aan then ring a bell, you have to teach them backwards. Teach them to ring the bell first, then go through a tunnel and ring the bell, then climb a ladder, through the tunnel, ring the bell....you get the picture.
