Chicken Urban Legends

Have you ever heard any chicken urban legends or stories about chickens you just can't believe? I've heard a few from old timers who have raised chickens.

1. You can hatch a chicken egg if you keep it in your arm pit for three weeks.

2. Anything you place up a chickens vent they will form an eggshell around. (engagement ring was an example I heard)

3. If you feed your chickens alot of alfalfa they will lay eggs with green yolks.

You can in fact hatch an egg using only body heat.

I don't know about an armpit, but I do know two 'body bators', one male and one female who successfully hatched chicks, one in her bra, the other in his... um... shorts.

He did build a holster though, didn't just stick em down there.

How do they not roll over on it in their sleep? I'd wake up covered in smooshed egg!
