I have a chicken that has been acting lethargic and sleepy. I opened her mouth and a yellow, slightly thick liquid came out. Her crop feels soft and squishy which makes me think there's more yellow stuff in there. This yellow liquid is also smelly.

Online websites indicates she might have sour crop, so I tried putting her on her side and massaging her crop, and I made some of the yellow liquid come out. But I stopped because I was worried she couldn't breathe since she began breathing with her mouth. After that, I've made her drink some apple cider vinegar mixed with water, as well as normal water that she drinks by herself. I have also tried giving her yogurt but she doesn't eat a lot.

She drinks normal water on her own, and she takes a lot of sips. I am unsure of what this means, is she dehydrated? It is summer right now.

Her droppings are watery with a white yellowish color, with some brown solids (picture below).

Please tell me what I should do!

Do you see any yellow or white lesions or canker inside the beak?

It does sound like she has Sour Crop. I'd treat with an anti-fungal or yeast medication like Miconazole or Clotrimazole as described in the article below.

It can be very risky to massage the contents of the crop up and out of the beak, this can cause a hen to choke or aspirate fluids, so I agree with you on stopping that process.

Has she been laying eggs regularly?

She doesn't have any canker or anything in her mouth. I'm not sure if she has laid eggs or not recently, but she hasn't today I think.

For a medication like Miconazole, would I need her to eat it?

I don't think I can get the medication until later today, but is there anything I should do later, or when she goes to sleep?

Yes, you would give the medication orally.

I found this medicine online which is Miconazole nitrate 2%. Is this the right miconazole? And is it safe for the chicken to eat?

Also according to that article, it says to massage the crop in circles to drain it, not to vomit. Should I try this?

Should I try feeding her something like scrambled eggs as the article says? I don't think she has eaten enough today but I'm worried since her crop is full of the squishy stuff.

Can you get something like Monistat where you live?

You can offer her food or bits of egg.
