Try placing a small surrounding "fence" from chicken wire with an entrance that only the cat can maneuver - like a tee pee. Or don't leave the food out all the time, just offer at feeding times for the cat - but the chickens likely will also show up at those times ;).

We have 2 outside cats and we supervise each feeding...they will ask and we put it down and stand there while they eat, then pick it up and put it inside. Leaving it out will draw possums and coons and other critters that are not wanted around. It can be difficult at times, but it is well worth not facing the alternative....if ya have a storage building or another shelter ya could put them there and place there food for them in a protected area.

I feed the cats in the garage and leave one of the doors up 5 inches. The chickens seem to need 6" to get into the garage and the cats can squeeze through 5. If the human door is left open, I have chickens in the garage.. Good luck.
