Chicken warts?

I have a blue rooster who has recently developed wart, bump like scabs on his head (comb, face, eyelids). He is in a pen by the house with two hens. One of the hens has started getting them around her eye now. I need help and FAST! I'm getting another batch of bitties tomorrow and I don't want them to catch it also!!!

Sounds like avian pox.

I found room to put the new batch somewhere else but I still want to save my rooster! ):
I will be researching avian pox! Do you know if there is a vaccine?

There's nothing you can do that I know of. You just have to let it run its course.

Chicken pox... literally.

I'd try feeding him something with electrolytes. I know you can buy electrolyte supplements to put in the water, but I personally just give my chickens some chard. It has electrolytes in it, along with most other dark-green, leafy vegetables, and other vegetables as well. I found this out from some random website.
But I have seemed to notice a difference when my chickens are sick and I've given them some chard, so....

My chickens have Fowl Pox now so I have been researching. I have just vaccinated my new chicks today using the wing web method and have keeping them inside for now with no contact with my existing birds. From everything I have read the Pox is very contagious. You can vaccinate birds that are not sick but other than using Iodine to dry up the "warts" and feeding electrolytes, green food, & extra TLC, there doesn't seem to be anthing that treats it. Your local feed store may have the vaccine but you can order on-line from Jeffers. You have to act pretty fast for all of the birds not to get infected. Mosquitoes carry it so I will vaccinate all of my new birds in the future because it is miserable for them. They can get respitory problems from the Pox so you might want to have an antibiotic on hand and watch for signs of difficulty breathing.
