chicken waterer nipples 5 for $3.90 a good deal?

I use these exact ones as well. I put my bucket on a concrete block with the edge hanging over, yet the bail of the bucket is also fastened to the wall to prevent tipping. Works great! I've installed these on that bucket as well as various other plastic containers for brooding babies and none have leaked so far.

I used them in my brooder for 6- 2 week old chicks. Drilled a hole in the top of a regular water bottle, screwed in the nipple and screwed the top back on the bottle. Just need to make sure that their is hole in the other end of bottle so you don't create a vacuum. They work great.

sweeet got the stuff today!

i recently upgraded my gravity waterer to these and they work awesome with some teflon tape... i found a gallon juice clear juice bottle and drilled two 5/16th holes in the bottom of bottle... filled it up and closed the cap... hung it on fence... they learned right away although there are 2 nipples they all just go for the same one... glad i got these so no more muddy black water to replace

Most of my nipple waters leak, despite the silicone caulking, though a few continure to work well. So I do keep using those. Water stays cleaner, and I can hang small bottles for brooders as well as a gallon size for adults.

Nice to see more ideas on making the nipples successful.

i did test it first on a milk bottle and since it was very thin flimsy plastic, i was not able to drill a clean hole and eventually it leaked like crazy... so later i tried some teflon... improved quiet a bit but the chickens were actually pulling it out because the thin plastic was not able to hold well... so i upgraded to a beefier juice bottle which was a little thicker and i used some teflon and screwed it in tightly...so far so good..no leaks and its been a like a week between water refills woot! good luck Arielle oh and make sure the washers/o-rings are still soft. flexible and clean for a good seal... just my 2 cents
