Has anyone evere used one of the watering valves from Stromberg chickens? I saw a waterer on ebay that appeared to be a valve in the bottom of a bucket. You hang it and I'm assuming they peck at it to get water. I found the valves at Strombergs, but wondered what you guys thought about them. I need a waterer inside and out. Would this work for both?

Check out my byc page on the nipple waterers-they work great, I can't say enough good things about them!

I just put some in my brooder and my 4-week olds immediately started pecking and drinking from them. They don't leak, but when the chicks drink from them they don't get all the water in their mouths, so wet spots do develop underneath them. That's not as big an issue in a coop with grown chickens, but I have to watch it with the little ones. Otherwise, they are great.
