when i was on vacation my friend texted me about one chicken going missing, i found a bunch of feathers near their dust bathe spot so what predator would do this? There’s no blood or anything.

The only predators that have completely taken my chickens are ones that are very capable of doing so..
Foxes, coyotes

I suppose a raccoon could too but every time I see a raccoon kill my chickens, the chicken is dead in the coop or run. And not taken

Can it be possible a cat killed my chciken? my chicken was pretty tiny and cats been stalking my chicken

If you have a game camera I would suggest you put it up because more than likely it has and will be back and then you will know what you're dealing with.

Yes. It's happened to others. But I would think a hawk or an owl, if your bird was small.

I'm sorry you lost your chicken. :hugs:hugs

I hate reading about predator kills because it's so sad. It's the circle of life and all that, I know. But it's still sad.

This killed several of my birds. I have since put heavy duty netting covering all of my pens and have had no losses since to owls and hawks.

if you set up a trail cam now, after the fact, it doesn't guarantee that what you pick up on it was what did your chicken.. It might be a good choice, though..

With my cameras I have found that the predators do have routines too. One coyote I have seen regularly has an injured right front foot that didn't heal correctly.
