I noticed just a little bit ago my hen is having a horrible time breathing. Every time she takes a breath there’s a deep rasp, and an almost cry like cluck as she breaths out. She’s still active, eating and drinking like normal. I didn’t notice anything wrong yesterday or this morning when I handled her. What’s wrong?

The noise she is producing is known as "stridor" which can occur due to any condition that causes a partial obstruction of the airway (trauma, fungal spores, etc), most commonly the sound is created by inhalation of feed dust, seeds, or some sort of other mater into her airways. Generally, birds with this problem will recover after a few hours, or days.

Thank you. She isn’t making as noticeable of a sound now, still a tad bit of wheezing. I was so worried because it was all of a sudden.
