Chicken Wire and Chicken Heads Necks

Can a chicken stick its head through chicken wire? I'd like to put some around the bottom of my dawg kennel/chicken run. A couple of them like to stick their heads through the chain link will chicken wire stop that?

Also-- is a 12 inch hardware cloth skirt wide enough to prevent predator digging?

I took my anti-dig apron out to 18". I'm not sure if one foot is sufficient or not? I'm sure more experienced members can answer that for you.

That is what chicken wire is designed for. It will be perfect to wrap your chain link dog kennel with. BUT purchase the "one inch" type- NOT 2".
I have 2 chain link kennels for breeder houses, both wrapped with 1" chicken wire to keep their busy body heads from poking out.

Hot wires are more effective to prevent digging by predators.
