One of my 6 month old white leghorn is gasping for air...I gave her vet rx and it helped for a day but she's back doing it again... I've given her more vet rx plus half cc of penicillin. Is there anything else I can do for her? I live in alabama so it isn't really that cold

I am sorry about your hen. Does she have any other symptoms such as nasal discharge, puffy face, stinky breath, acting depressed? Does her gasping have a gargle or cracking tone to it? If it sounds like it’s coming from her lungs it could be respiratory. I would look down her throat to see if there is anything unusual such as lesions or excess mucus. I read once that gasping can be a sign of parasites (such as gapeworm). Hopefully it’s something minor! I’ve only had experience with respiratory issues in my flock, but I’ve never had an issue with Parasites yet.

Yes it has a gargle to it. Unsure on smell haven't really tried to smell her breath. I looked down her throat the first time and didn't see anything unusual.

I am not a professional but a few respiratory diseases are caused due to bacteria like Coryza. They are sometimes accompanied with discharge from the eyes or pus. You should check their eyes.Use Sulfa drugs for them.
Also see whether she is giving her eggs in regular intervals.
Is she the only one gasping for air?
If you dont see any nasal discharge, then it is probably gapeworm.
I hope you the very best!

Th here is no discharge, she is the only one.... but. It isn't a constant gasp and she is able to eat and drink.
I had one with gapeworm and she couldn't eat. I had to put her down
