Hey,
Just recently, I went out to the coop in the morning to let my chickens down and I noticed that my Barred Rock hen had a BALD head! It was never like that before. She had her molt a long time ago, and shes not losing any more of her other feathers. It is not red, rashy, or swollen, just looks like normal skin. I have no idea what to do with her, she now has Sour Crop for the 4th time. I have no idea how she got that either. She has not been eating long grass, hay, or anything.

Thanks!!

She may be getting her head feathers picked by another. Try some bad-tasting cream such as Nustock or Bag Balm, or one of the anti-pick lotions from the feed store (Rooster Booster.) Here are some links on sour crop:

Could it be that I am not feeding them enough? I have heard of some hens picking on others because they don't have enough food..... true?

Thank you for helping! I will try your suggestions.

If you suspect it is not enough protein, you might increase it to 20% by adding gamebird feed, dry cat food, or by using Flock Raiser 20% and supplementing with crushed oyster shell for the calcium that is in layer.
