I have a chicken that has developed a bleeding wound on her underside. It is about a centimeter in diameter and is shaped like a volcano. It is bleeding, but I think mostly because she and her friends keep pecking it. I am thinking it might be something like an ingrown feather?? It is slightly raised off her skin also. Any advice?

Chickens are very attracted to pecking at anything bloody. It would be safest to separate her temporarily until the bleeding is under control. I am not sure about the cause, but the ingrown feather sounds like a reasonable theory or maybe it was a little abscess that burst. You could put neosporin on it. A lot of people here on BYC recommend Blu-Kote which is a blue tinted antiseptic sold in the farm store. I keep it on hand because it covers up the red of the blood to help discourage pecking at the wound.
