chicken with bronchitus like symtoms

Ihave an 18-month old hen with cold like symtoms.she has stopped laying and is very lethargic,she also is wheezing and has one eye closed most of the time and is drinking a lot,any ideas on what this could be and how to treat it.THANKS

Definitely separate her immediately. It sounds like it could be infectious bronchitis, which is highly contagious. Keep her in a warm place, and you can give antibiotics to prevent secondary infections. The increased water intake is likely because bronchitis affects the kidneys. Make sure you care for her after you care for the other chickens.

I once had a Buff Orpington pullet who got bronchitis, at first we gave her tylan in her water, that was not working, at all, so we put apple
cider vineger in the water and she healed quickly. Perhaps you could try that?
