chicken with cracked beak

One of my chickens has a good sized crack on her upper beak. The break is about half way upwards.
She seems to be eating normally and not in any pain. Do we need to be concerned or will it grow out in time like finger nails?

Yes, it will likely grow out.. but I would consider using an epoxy of some type to stop it from splitting further.

Not sure which products will be safest to use.. so just some ideas but please use YOUR best judgement and be careful.. Super glue, crazy glue, fake fingernail type glue.

Are you able to post a photo of the damage? Is trimming or filing a possibility to get rid of the actively splitting part? How old is the bird?

hen is about 5 months old. I'll try to get a photo after work today. She's the skidish one so will do it close to quitting time. I have teen girls at a home, so we got plenty of fake nail glue...
