I just got some more chickens today and I noticed that one of them can't close her beak completely. She's younger than a year old. Do you think she will be okay since she's lived this long or is there a possibility that it could get worse? Does she need special help at all? This isn't her but her beak looks exactly like this

We have a chicken with a cross beak. We got him last April as a day old chick and when it started showing about 5 days later I was so worried that he wouldn’t be able to eat or drink properly and wouldn’t make it. However a year later and he’s thriving. His beak is far worse than the picture above. I’m not an expert but I think yours will be okay! Ours drinks fine but eats differently. We have the typical galvanized feeder where you put the feed through the top. Instead of eating it out of the bottom like a typical chicken, he climbs on the top standing on the edge of the feeder and puts his head right into the top and eats out that way. My daughter also will take a baby tooth brush and gently clean his beak when she notices dried food all stuck on it. He also can’t really pick treats up off the floor so she will hand feed him soft treats on occasion like yogurt- she just likes to baby him! Other than that he is just a typical chicken! :)
