Yes, put probiotics in her water and try to gently force her to drink. Placing her in a warm bath (shallow) Can soften the egg shell.I am going to write to you in one minute this is egg binding. I will help you!
Applying KY jelly to the vent can help lubricate the cloaca to allow for ease of passage when the egg gets to that point. (Do not use olive oil which can become rancid). DO NOT MASSAGE the vent, abdomen, or oviduct. A broken eggshell can mean curtains for the hen.Yes, put probiotics in her water and try to gently force her to drink. I thought I should just send you this link since it will take me a while to write you a message and you need help immediately since this is a life-threatening situation for your chicken!
Please do not listen to this @Everly808 . They clearly have not read and understood your situation.I did soak her bum and it only stressed her out. Its ONLY the shell in there. She passed the rest of the egg. The shell has disappeared back inside of her.
Oh, ok. All of the research I have done has said to bathe egg-bound birds. But I guess your probably right.Bathing, again, a chicken this I'll will kill it. Never ever ever bath a sick bird.
