chicken with eyes stuck shut......

what do I need to do? he cant open his eyes! I found him on the side of the road. he is a japanese bantam! please help! he acts fine other than this.

I had a chick with this problem and after a warm face cloth and some efforts, he was able to open his eyes for a little bit at a time before resting them for a while, not being used to the bright light around. Other than that, I sure hope it's not from other chickens or something that may have wounded his eyes? I hope he's okay though
