I went outside today, only to notice that my beautiful Aracauna wasn't so beautiful anymore. She has a pretty rapid case of feather loss, and I'm not sure if it's mites or molting time for her. She seems to be picking at them, but I didn't see mites when I checked. Also, she is one of the older chickens, (I have two sets, 2010, and 2012), and the other 2010 chickens have separated from her. She is now with the 2012 chickens. It also smells worse than usual in my coop...

I'm really confused about what is going on, so any help would be useful, especially if she needs to be separated soon.

(By the way: I don't usually refer to them by years- that was for clarification.

It's molting season. I have two 2010s that are just about finished, one that is halfway, and one that just got started and looks more like a porcupine than a chicken. Keep an eye on her but I'd put my money on molting.
