Hello,
One of my hens has what I'm calling a growth on her beak. It almost looks calloused. She's eating and drinking as normal. She's about 8 years old. None of my other chickens are showing signs of this. See pics. Thanks for your help.

That looks like dried nasal drainage mixed with feed, or just dried feed. There are many threads with similar pictures of "blocked nares or nostrils." You can do a search, and I will also try and find some. I would get some peroxide, and mix it half with water. Then apply it liberally to the gunk. Let it sit there for a few minutes. Then take an orange stick or something similar that you can try to scrape a little of it off at a time. This may take several attempts, but you should be able to get it out and the nosteils open again.

Thank you! I wasn't even sure where to begin as far as searching this issue. I searched dried nasal drainage and it does seem to be her issue. I'll try the peroxide and water mixture to clean it off.
