Chicken with leg injury

I've had some as bad as that and maybe worse, recover, sometimes in a few days and others after weeks and even months of supportive care. They will usually suffer a second or even third attack in later months though. I give them a chance as long as they show an interest in eating and fighting it. When they stop wanting food, that is my trigger point to end it for them. I'm not sure that the lameness is painful, they just seem to get frustrated by their inability to coordinate their movements, but chickens are good at hiding illness and pain, so I couldn't say for sure that they are not in pain.
I know it is a difficult decision to make, and whatever you do will be the right one.

Best wishes

Barbara

PS. Good to hear the pullets are vaccinated. That has to be a bit of peace of mind.
