Chicken with leg problem is in pain - Ibuprofen???

Then, if that is true, that apparently has changed and now contradicts older information from the veterinary reference I was reading since I posted that 11 years ago (this is an old thread) I still would not give an avian Tylenol or anything other than aspirin, no need to risk that. The "caine" products can kill a chicken, though, depending on how administered, and that is 100% true. I know of cases where that has happened.

Adding that you should be much less inclined to medicate a chicken than you would yourself. Unless under the instruction of a veterinarian who actually knows chickens as well as the current situation with your birds, best to stick to low dose aspirin. Most chicken keepers have zero idea what the weight of any of their chickens is and that is critical to know in medicating any of them and they are usually far too quick to give sketchy meds to their chicken in a desperate attempt to do something. Less is more and less is much safer.

I know this is an old thread but in case anyone looks to it for advice I need to add that you are incorrect. Ibuprofen can be given to chickens. I have a chicken rescue and work closely with a vet. We have treated numerous chickens for pain and inflammation with ibuprofen.
Is there a dose for 4 week baby chick.
