Chicken with lump on her toe

You need to soak the foot, 20 minutes in a warm epsom salts bath to start, to soften it up. Then remove the scab and any pus kernel beneath it (chicken pus is firm and cheesy, not liquid like humans). It may take more than once depending on how deep/large it is. Then fill the hole with neosporin and wrap the foot to keep it clean and dry. I use nonstick telfa pads and co wrap (available where ever horse supplies are sold - cut to width you need) You will need to change the bandage, reapply neosporin and check progress until it heals. Depending on how deep/large it is, it can take awhile. It's important to get all the gunk out. Most of the time antibiotics are not necessary, but if it gets worse you might have to do that also.
Here is more info, this is the route I always try first, no cutting. If this way doesn't work then surgery is the next option.

I haven't had any with it myself.
I do weekly foot checks though.

I also read a ton on here.

It will need surgery to remove the core.
It is caused by an injury that got infected. It doesn't have to be a big injury either.

Puss in chickens is different than in people.
The contents under that scab will be thick and have a hard core in it. That core needs to come out.

To soften the scab and begin treatment she will need a 20-30 minute foot soak in warm Epsom salt water.

This is the first treatment since you initially posted?

If so she has had that staff infection eating away at her foot and entire system for 2 additional weeks. :(

That foot needs soaked for a minimum of 20 minutes in warm Epsom salt water. You may need to repeat the soak a few times a day.
Keep working at getting it opened up and cleaned out after each soak.
Then Neosporin without pain killer and wrap after the soak/cleaning cycle.

No kidding here.....staff infection can kill her.

Can you take a new picture showing its now larger size and the swelling?
