Woke up to this today. Any ideas? Can I use this ointment on it? I used an anti microbial wash on it already and a smear of this ointment. Is a vet trip necessary?

She doesn’t have any other symptoms, she ate some treats from my hand, but it was just clear she couldn’t see out of that eye, so she was slow. I am getting Tylan today to start her on just incase. I should have enough of that ointment, thank you! Here is what I used as a flush in her eye:What's the microbial wash you used?
Flush the eye with saline, see if there's any debris or injury. You can use the ointment you have in the photo.
If you don't have enough, then you can find Terramycin eye ointment at TSC.
Is she showing any other symptoms like coughing, sneezing, mucous, etc.?
The vetericyin is good to flush the eye. When you open and rinse it again, look for bubbles, pus or something stuck in the eye.She doesn’t have any other symptoms, she ate some treats from my hand, but it was just clear she couldn’t see out of that eye, so she was slow. Thank you, your advice is so greatly appreciated! I will hold off on the antibiotic and check on her eye again looking for those things, as you said. If she's not got pus or other symptoms of respiratory illness, then hold off on antibiotics. It's good to have on hand if you need it though.
In case you do determine she needs the Tylan50, dose is 0.25ml per pound of weight given orally three times a day for 5 days in a row.
I’m sorry to hear about your girl, it’s so frustrating when they’re hurt or sick. My little lady must’ve had an injured eye, because she slowly started to keep it open again longer over about 3 days. It never got worse, and we only flushed it and applied ointment a couple of times, so hers had to be injured. I did by Tylan just in case, but never had to use it. A chicken first aid kit on hand definitely helps ease the mind! I am really new to chickens, so I can’t say very well what you should do here, but maybe someone following this thread canThis conversation has been so helpful. How is your chickens eye now? We are experiencing the same thing. A really helpful man at tractor supply thought the eye might just be injured and to put Neosporin in it but it hasn’t helped. It has seemed to get worse. Now she started limping. I’m worried she might have fallen off the roosting bar or injured her leg maybe because she can’t see well. She is so sweet and I hate this to be happening! My husband is on his way to the store now for some saline flush. We also have teramycin if you think that would help.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad yours is better! I’m worried we went down the wrong path too long.I’m sorry to hear about your girl, it’s so frustrating when they’re hurt or sick.
