Chicken with swollen leg.

My chicken has had a swollen leg for over a week now, and it does not appear to be getting any better nor worse. I have soaked it in Epsom salt and put polysporin on it every other day. There are no scabs that I can see. She is not limping and it doesn't seem to bother her. She is eating and drinking normally. She is a 2 1/2 year old buff Orpington and the rest of the chickens are not affected. I am not sure what else to do since it is not getting better. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I have included a picture of both the top and bottom of her foot.

I have a rooster with that same issue. A vet was over checking out some canker on my hen and I asked about the swollen foot. I told her that he had had bumblfoot and she said that it was an infection in his leg and that if it gets any worse I should have him put down.keep up the good work though!

Is her foot warm? Is it soft or hard? Does she roost up high?

The answers to those questions could offer more clues.

With no scab I wouldn't suspect bumble foot but it could be. If it's hard feeling I would lean towards bumble foot... She could have jumped from a high roost and injured herself.

Sorry I'm not giving a definite answer. Trying to bounce ideas around. I currently have a girl refusing to walk on one foot. She had bumble foot in the one she is walking on. I'm completely lost on her... I'm watching and waiting.

We have had mild ones that could be soaked.
Be careful! Nip it in the butt so to speak..
Try soaking in Epsom salt maybe.

Thank you for your help. Her foot is not warm and the swelling is soft. It doesn't seem to bother her at all. She uses the roost just fine.

It sounds like she hit it some how. If it's soft and fluid filled you could try a compression wrap. It may have some fluid buildup like a bruise but not necessarily blood. Chickens don't put their feet up to help fluid go back into the body.
It's worth a shot personally. Non invasive at least.
