My chicken Artemis tends to have trouble walking and usually spends most of her time laying down, but this is an ongoing thing that I kinda accept as being incurable. But lately, the ends of her toes have been turning a brownish/orangish color (her feet are usually blue) and some of the scales on her toes have been peeling off. I have no idea what is wrong, so I'm hoping to know what people here think.

Have you any super cold weather going on? What is the roost pole made of?

Have you checked the symptoms of scaly leg mites? It doesn't *look* like it, but I'm too unfamiliar with it to rule it out.
