I brought six chickens over a week ago now. I think they are 12 months old or older and was told that they were laying eggs but haven't layed any eggs since moving them to out coop. I went and brought laying pellets and have given the chooks a range of scraps but they really love lettuce. They always have fresh water and feed. Am I doing something wrong? Can anyone help me pls?

They are most likely not laying at the moment, because they are stressed from the move and still getting used to their new environment. I've moved hens a few times in the past and had the same experience… Chickens hate change! Just give them a bit more time, I'm sure you'll see some eggs soon.

X 2 -- welcome to BYC. Enjoy some time getting to know your girls and letting them get to know you/their new home, you'll have eggs before you know it.

Hi and welcome to BYC - you have some great advice already so I'll just say hello!

All the best

What are the signs of chickens moulting? I've noticed some feathers in my coop and a chicken with a few feathers missing from her back. Would this be the reason why my hens aren't laying atm?
