chicken won't lay in the nest box

I've had my one year old Ameraucana, Lucy, for just over a month and up until 2 weeks ago she has been laying normally in the coop's nest box but now she lays just about everywhere BUT the next box! She has been laying under our porch, until we blocked off her entrance, now this morning I found her in our garage sitting on a bag of mulch, like she was about to lay an egg. Why is this happening and is there anything I can do to stop it?

Put some fake eggs into the nest boxes to help encourage her to lay in the correct spot. Golf balls should do the trick.

thanks, I'll definitely have to try that! we do have two other chickens who lay in the box but of course we take the eggs out to refrigerate them as soon as we see one in there.
