I have 3 week old and 4 day old chicks (total of 20 babies). I am new to chickens but I have some wormer for them. I know puppies you need to worm them and on the back of the label it says you can start 4-6 weeks of age. Is this something that they need for sure or not?? How do I tell if they are wormy???

I've never wormed babies. Unless you hgot them from someplace ansty, I wouldn't do it. Keep an eye on the poops and general helath of the birds. My current flock is 1 1/2 yrs old with no sign of worms.

I do not worm mine...my oldest are going on 3 yrs., and it's never been an issue for me. I try not to over-medicate in any way.

I don't think chickens are usually wormed unless worms are confirmed with poop test or seen in poop. Not like puppies.
