Chicken wound on wing- won't stop bleeding!

So this rooster has an abcess looking thing on its wing on the up side by the carpal/phalange. I've cleaned and bandaged and it bled through in 3 hours. Cleaned again and opened the abcess thinking possible broken "blood" feather. Nothing inside. Cleaned and attempted to cauterize the inside of it. Still seeping blood but better. What is this and any ideas to stop it? Thanks!

Do you have access to Yarrow? It's a common plant that grows everywhere.

Crush some of the leaves and apply it to the wound. It will stop the bleeding and help with the healing.

Yarrow is a very useful plant, and it's always good to have some on hand, especially as it's so easy to find and gather.
