Hi everyone.can you tell me how old of hens 2 putt with my grown 2 hens n 1 rooster.I'm going to action on saterday n plan on bing some laying hens

I find younger birds easier to integrate then older birds. I usually put my 4 week old chicks in a cage in the coop so my hens can see but not touch them. I them leave them in the cage for several weeks to a month. I then allow my chicks to join the other chickens, giving the birds two separate/out of site food and water containers and plenty of room. As long as they do not draw blood, I allow them to fight it out.
