chickenmath at it's finest!

Hello Ya'll,

today we drove to Cackle Hatchery to pick up our Chicks.

We had ordered:

10 light brahmas
5 black Australorp
2 white leghorn
1 barred rock rooster


when we drove home we also had

5 Welsummers
2 Cayuga Ducks and
1 Pekin Duck

we are happy to hear chirps in the house again!

here is the whole bunch in the brooder. This is about 1/3 of the brooder that we section off while they are itty bitty.



they put green paint on the white leghorns so we could tell which ones they are and yellow paint on the roo.



and this is me, deeply in love with the little duckling!

 

soooo, we have to figure something out with the ducks, the chicks and ducks are just so mean to eachother. for now we have them separated, but we'll figure out a better plan soon.
