I would use a carcass as bait. Steak it down somehow in front of camera to ensure good picture taking. You may find more than one visitor.

Sorry for your loss. ... though mine were killed by a pair of dogs. Dogs don't take the heads, though they do mass kill...

Yeah, had a neighbors dog kill one of our chickens and he got upset because I took a shot at his dog. Grrr... (They're no longer neighbors)

The more I think about the manner you chickens were killed I think you are dealing with a mink or pine marten. Please let us know what you discover with your trail cam.

UPDATE:
Last night I took the seven chicken carcasses and placed them in about a 10-foot radius behind my barn and set up my trail cam. After a restless night, I checked this morning and the carcasses had not been disturbed and nothing on my trail cam. Should I do this another night???

PS. Our 5 remaining chickens are safe this morning after spending the night in the coop with the door shut and locked.

Yes, all chickens were seen and accounted for the night before the attack by me when I gave them an evening treat of cracked corn. (I consistently count them multiple times daily as they are/were a free-ranging flock).
