Why are my 2 Wyandottes hot to the touch? They are about a month from laying and have always been hot. I trying give them a frozen water bottle but they just covered it in sand.😑 Their names are Maple and CAspaina. Their steps sisters are Dixie (Plymouth) and Drama (dramatic Barnavelder). I live on Florida and my school has had Wyandottes before but they were never hot. Anything I can do? Pictures below... don’t mind the white/splash chicken she passed away a few weeks ago due to her digestive system.

Ok, thanks. They have shade almost all day long. We even got a small solar fan for the inside of the coop. If you cannot never letting us touch them odd behavior then yes. They are always laying down with there sisters. They drink way more then enough water. The poop is watery at times but mostly normal big poops.

Deep all day shade is best but....

I give a dose of Sav-a-Chick electrolytes/vitamins about once a week during heat waves.
It really seems to help....started this after they saved a heat stroked hen once.
Can mix up a smaller amount, just wrap the packet tight and store in a dry cool place.
Always have plain water available too.

BIG(9x14x2") chunks of ice last all day for wading, sitting, and sipping.
Much more useful to the chickens than frozen foods and treats.
