chickens and bees

hi everyone,

i currently have 3 chickens who free-range throughout the backyard for 1-2 hours per day. i'm thinking of adding a beehive to my backyard, and was wondering if i need to keep the chickens from checking out the hive.

i'm hoping not to have to put the hive too high (hard to reach for me) or to have to build a new barrier in my yard.

anyone out there with both bees and chickens?

I would just put a small 2-3ft tall fence around it. I use the green PVC chicken wire from TSC or Lowes.....works great for keeping them out of my garden. I'm sure it would keep them out of the bees. My beeyard though is surrounded by electric fence so no worries there any anything getting in.

I have one girl that will kill a bee in a heartbeat and two others that try their best to. I would fence around it.
