Chickens and coconut oil

As coconut oil is so good for people and also animals such as dogs, I am interested to know if anyone on here has ever given any to their chickens. For instance, we usually put a spoonful of coconut oil in our morning oatmeal and wondered if giving any leftovers to the girls could be a bad idea.

I don't see why not, my girls eat fresh coconut with no problems. I also used it once on a new roo (all I had on hand) for scaly leg mites and he loved it.
