Yes, i as debating the insulation boards. They are pretty expensive, so I thought about just putting mdf boards up.
Now I think I may paint the roof first, then see what the temp is inside

Unless you want to use it as insulation in the winter. 1/2" insulation with the silver back (styrofoam) is all that's needed. It's a barrier to radiant heat so the "r" factor isn't as important. If you want winter heat retention then you'll be better off using insulation batting.
