I have 15 one month old Guineas and I put them in the chicken house with 25 three month old Cinnamon Queen chickens. the next morning there were 4 dead chickens. I never thought the guineas would kill the chickens. The chickens are a lot bigger. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance

YES IT IS A FACT GUINEAS WILL KILL YOUR CHICKENS ....... ESPIECALLY IF THEY DO NOT GET OUT MUCH.....GUINEAS GET BORED SO IF THEY ARE HOUSED TOGETHER EVENTUALLY THEY KILL OFF CHICKENS .....GUINEAS EAT FROGS AND SNAKES AS WELL SO THEY MUST HAVE ACCESS TO THEM OR YOUR CHICKENS THEN BECOME DINNER ,,,

I have not ventured into guineas yet, it's on the bucket list, but I've done a fair amount of reading. Seems to be mixed reviews on keeping chickens and guineas housed together. I think the biggest issue is space. Many people keep chickens in minimal space, and it sometimes works, but seems to not be the case with guineas. They can be more aggressive, and need more space. I've already decided that when I eventually add guineas they may range in the pasture with the chickens but I will house them separately. Here is some reading that may help you to assess your set up. Good luck.

@Driftingokie Sorry to hear about your issue. I have 6 guineas, 45 chickens, and 2 turkeys (8before Thanksgiving) living together. I have never had a problem like this. The only time a guinea has been aggressive here, was after his mate was killed. He picked one of my GLW hens to be his "new lady". When he saw a rooster mount this hen he would attack. It was pretty rough for a few days. But it ironed itself out. If you don't already you may want to hang treats in the coop. We hang suet cakes or ears of corn form string. They like the treat and it keeps them busy working for the treat. Hope things are better soon!
