Chickens and lawn mowers

My Faverolles are too busy working on staying fat to be scared of things.

I'm always amazed at what chickens can grow used to.

So the noise doesn't bother the chickens? Last week after my new mowers came I found my 2 month old Blue Cochin dead in the run. The other 3 chicks were in the coop. I can't figure out if the lawn mower/weed wacker hit her with a flying rock or she died being scared of the noise? They did come and mow, edge and blow the area. I was upset that the guy weed wacked right along the run. I don't know if I should have the mowers back or go and buy one so I can do it myself? The mower guy did apologize and offered to pay for a new one. My plans for tomorrow are to bring them in the house and put them in the dog kennel, but I know I can't do that all summer.
