Chickens and Conspiracy theories......
Ok, let me explain. Raising hens for eggs has taken me down some deep deep rabbit holes! First, the eggs! Homegrown eggs are simply amazing! Mine were a little smaller than what you get from the stores, but infinitely richer, and more flavorful! So I began to wonder why. And I began to do research, which then led me to start questioning things. Not just food, either. EVERYTHING. From what we put into our bodies, to how those things affect our overall health and well being, and finally, how in the he.. to get those things out(detox)! From the false germ theory, to 9/11, and everything in between. I'm just wondering if anyone else has been affected this way? Please, let me know how much smarter you are now that you have chickens!

Good for you for your deep dive into health.
Are your birds young or bantams giving you smaller eggs?
Just having fresh eggs will cause them to taste better. Add to that, letting them forage and get more natural elements in their diet like seeds, vegetation, invertebrates and vertebrate animal protein.

As far as questioning things. I question food labeling laws. In the US, they have little meaning. With eggs, words like cage free and free range don't mean a great deal. Cage free means they aren't sharing a cage with 3 or 4 other hens. It doesn't mean they are ever outside or get sunlight. Free range only means they have outdoor access. That is usually through a small pop door for thousands of birds and perhaps just onto a porch or if soil, there may be no vegetation. With other foods, 'natural' means nothing. Things like diet or low cal usually mean artificial sweeteners. Generally, fat, sugar and salt are used to make things taste good but also artificial flavors.
I no longer eat anything out of a package. Nothing with 'ingredients' other than nutrient dense foodstuffs. I only eat plants, mushrooms and things that eat plants. Basically, a plant and animal diet. The only processed 'foods' I eat are cheese and butter.
I'm 72, in perfect health with no aches or pains. I don't think that is just luck.

You're a smart one!

I'm sure it's not.

Hippocrates was definitely right.
"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.
This hangs on my back door!
