So, I have a nice watering system set up for my chickens, holds about 4 gallons and they use it frequently. However, just about as frequently, they will drink from any water that is standing in their pasture. Puddles, anything plastic that has blown in and captured water, a bucket I left in there, etc... When I extended the pasture, the runoff from the washing machine goes out there and they drink that. What is their problem? Why drink that instead? Just venting. I yelled at them about it today, they just said, "Bawk"

Chickens don't care where they drink, water to them, water. They maybe didn't wanna drink from the other water, they do as they want.

Tell me about it!

Mine have nice 70 degree F water in the coop...they still love to chomp on snow.
