Chickens are eating eggs

An egg eater has got to go! Once an egg is opened others will join in on the feast, if they learn to open the eggs too, you'll have more culling to do. And it is culling. Best of luck.

Been raising chickens a long time and feeding any broken or dirty eggs back to them and have never had an "egg eater" in all these years. What you might be seeing is an egg laid that has cracked during the process.

I'd check your EE hen's eggs for thin, brittle shells. Sometimes that just happens, no matter how much OS you offer, as chickens go through different cycles with their ovulation...particularly right before or during their molt. Growing new feathers can be taxing on a bird's overall nutrition, so eggs can be weird shaped, soft shelled, thin shelled...you name it, it can happen.

All chickens will eat an egg that has broken and is leaking...I've never seen any that would actually peck open and eat a normal egg. I'd leave them alone and let them be their natural, chickeny self and not worry about them turning into egg eaters.

I have a silkie that eats eggs and wont stop. I would get rid of her but my boy bought her so it's no.
