How do I cool my chickens down? I've tried "dunking" them in water buckets and splashing them with water. They don't like that. I've also tried using a spray bottle to mist them. They don't like that.

Please help! Temps are around 80 degrees F. and they are panting/holding there wings away from their bodies!

Thanks!

P.S. I have Golden Laced Wyandotte's and Buff Orpington's.

Thanks! But they are panting and holding their wings away from their bodies. I thought that mean't they were hot.....

Ok.....................hmm..........i don't have water melon right now. what can i use instead??

Frozen melons frozen strawberries frozen berries. Anything frozen they like as a treat. Put ice cubes in there water make sure they have shade and they will be fine. Just keep changing there water and put ice cubes in it. They will not drink warm water and they will become dehydrated. They hate warm water. So just keep changing there water for fresh cold water with ice cubes. Or freeze water bottle and put then in a rubber dish to keep it cool in the shade.
