Chickens generally stop laying for a spell after being moved to a new home. The birds that you have are bred more to be pretty 'lawn ornaments' rather than producers of large numbers of eggs. They will lay again, but generally lay a clutch of eggs and then go broody.

Hi there,

If your chickens are in a new coop it generally takes a few days to weeks for them to get back to laying again. But if your chickens were laying previously, I would say they will start laying this week. Also if you have ping pong balls but them in the Laying boxes because it encourages them to lay their.

Hope this helps.

Out to pasture
Golf balls work as phony eggs too, chickens aren't very bright. Silkies and frizzles are not the greatest layers but, they are generally very docile, and good with children.
