Chickens aren't the only "cannibals"

We're watching LIFE on Discovery. The Strawberry Poison Dart frog (I think that's the name) lays an unfertilized egg in each plant where her young are so they have something to eat. She does this every couple of days. So feeding our chicks hardboiled eggs isn't that bad, KWIM?
