CHICKENS AT THE JERSEY SHORE : )

Hey everyone just wanted to introduce myself. I am a 22 year old who to the disbelief of his friends, loves chickens. Im a singer who works as a veterinary surgical tech several days a week when I dont have class. ( I used to work full time until I went back to school : )
I live in a snooty upscale jersey suburb about 20 mins from the Jersey shore. Sometimes i feel like the only down to earth person around here! ( and definitely the only one who has chickens haha ) I have about an acre and a half of land but up until about a month ago only had 1 Cochin pullet. Obviously a trip to a local breeder ended up in taking home 1 black silkie, 1 white silkie and 1 Millie fleur. ( all now 4 weeks) Just wanted to introduce myself and see if there was anyone else in the area around my age to trade stories with . Thanks for all the info that has been provided it has helped me out immensely!

@ ShadowRabbit -- lol yup about 20 mins away from me. I used to want to be a vet. I became a veterinary tech after highschool and was able to get accredited because I worked at a teaching hospital. Then went through 14 months of training and became a veterinary surgery technician because it is much better pay. I go to college part time so even though Im gonna be 23 soon Im only a sopohomore in college lolll just too much stress to be a vet having to deal with clients and sad situations.
