My son was out putting some ice in the chickens water and blew a bubble with his sugar-free gum. Apparently this was irresistible and one of the chickens grabbed the gum right out of his mouth. Much chasing was done, but the gum was consumed by two of our chickens. I told him I thought it would be ok, and it would just come out, but am not entirely sure. So, what do you all think? They have ACV in their water all the time, so maybe that will help break it down. I am hoping we will just see little blue poopies soon.

*Not sure this is really an emergency, but if this isn't the right place for it, I apologize.*

that's funny, i thought the exact same thing when i read that.

I think they will be ok but i would keep a close eye on them. Can you imagine the pasty butt that would cause.

Good Luck

My bantams ate a piece and some whole gum as well, it's been years nothing happened.
she's still healthy.

They'll be fine. Kids will be fine if they swallow gum too. That chewing gum is indigestible is a myth that might (or might not) have been true in your great-grandparent's time.
