So this weekend was hectic and I forgot to lock up the coop Friday and Saturday night. Sunday I go out to fill up the feeders and waterers and find that only 8 of the 10 hens are around. I found one of my Barred Rocks on a rock pile with its head bloody and tore up. I went to pick it up to bury it and it’s stomach had been opened up. The other one is MIA presumed dead.
So on to my issue. The remaining 8 were acting fine yesterday. Today I go out and find 2 in the coop. One is missing a little bit of it’s comb, here is a pic of the worse one. It’s the only injuries I see. I’m assuming they too were attacked but got away. Should I be concerned by this? I’m not one to take a chicken to a vet, they’re not pets to me, but I can buy some antibiotic spray if it’ll help.

you should definatley treat her with antibiotics, but if the only wound is on her comb, she should be fine.

do you know what attacked your chickens? chances are that if you don't catch it it will come back.

The coop is predator proof, except for maybe a small snake, when it’s locked up so hopefully if it does return it’ll get discouraged and leave. I will get some antibiotics tomorrow.
As far as what it could be, I live in central Florida so it could be a raccoon, opossum, hawk, owl, or fox. In my 27 years of living in this area I’ve never seen a fox, only fox droppings once. I’m not sure if the attack happened during the day or night so I’ve got no clue.
