Congrats! I'm waiting for mine to arrive next month. So excited. Where did you order from? Which breeds did you get? Anyway, I hope you post often on how they're doing. I'm a first-timer, so I'll be watching and learning! :D

Im a new person of raising raising chickens and i ordered them from Meyer hatchery there a really great hatchery i ordered 3 hens and a rooster i have a light brown leghorn male, a golden laced Wyadotte hen a black Australop hen and a white leghorn hen but for some reason i got 2 leghorns :p and i will post info and pictures each week and pics of my other chickens and 2 coops :p but anyways WELCOME TO BYC!! and also good hatching and what brreds did you order?

Welcome and you can learn with the rest of us! I get my babies right after Labor Day. I'm very excited and nervous. I'm paying $3 for guaranteed hens for Plymouth Barred Rocks, Rhode Island Red and Golden Comet? Is that a good deal? I told her 6 but then wife thinks we should go with 3...I'm still torn I don't have to decide until they are born. Our town is fickle about chickens so we're trying to fly under the radar. Several in town have them but not roosters. Nothing has been said but they don't have many so we're hoping 3 for now will just be our children's pets. I guess we will wait and see. We are hoping to build our new home this coming spring then we can have as many as we would like to have.

I ordered mine from My Pet Chicken and should arrive the week of Sept 10. I ordered a silver laced Wyandotte, a salmon faverolle, a buff silkie, and a blue silkie which I'm hoping will be a splash. I took notes on what to do the 1st few days from fellow BYC members and fingers crossed I don't run into any problems. I also have to do this under the radar. Hope no one turns me in.

I'm so jealous! I've had my tractor for over a month now and haven't gotten any babies yet. I only have room for 6 bantams or 4 LF. My Pet Chickens minimum to my area is 9 (LA) and I thought McMurray was 25. How did you get them to ship only 4? I thought I would have to wait until Spring unless I can find someone in my area with bantams. Enjoy your new babies. They are precious.
